The encounter will be at the heart of our journey :

- Encounter with 'know-how'of the people : cooking chefs, ayurvedic doctors and therapists, dancers, actors, musicians, spice gardeners, botanists…
- And of course, the encounter with Kerala itself, a state like no other.

A few years ago, in India, during a course of Kathakali, Murielle Ikareth was supervising the group and Francoise Calvel was one of the students.
The wish to share know-how and knowledge to exchange their cultural roots seemed to become obvious.
Paalam would like to be the hyphen linking discoveries, exchanges and creations between the artistic and cultural world of India and France.
So beyond commonly held images on both sides of the world, Paalam wishes that the genuineness and richness of both our cultures might be shared.
The ancient traditions still present in India and yet in full mutation inexorably attract western-world, a world saturated with information, activities and shallow images.
At the same time in India, weighed down back traditions, one can be tempted by the high status of the individual in our modern societies.
Here and elsewhere we have the same need to become aware of our fellow humans to go in search of our differences, to confront our ways of thinking, of acting and of creating, to share our ways of doing and being - a necessary process for mutual enrichment of our societies. |
